• Biorisk assessment and management: basic principles (1-day course) 
• Biocontainment with GM plants & plant pests (1,5-day course) 
• Biological waste management (1-day course) 
• Decommissioning of laboratories and production facilities (1-day course)

Accelerating Biosafety

The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic impacts society in unseen ways, pushing biosafety practices in everyday situations, and with a strengthened public interest in containment and safety measures. At the same time biosafety professionals had to reorient themselves to cope with extraordinary situations, requiring creative solutions. Building on this dynamic, the EBSA 2022 Conference will be the meeting place where biosafety professionals can reconnect, share effective and practical approaches, and thereby accelerate Biosafety.

Presenting a programme which will attract starting as well seasoned biosafety professionals, you can expect:

• Sessions on
  • Emerging and neglected diseases
  • Emerging technologies and biosafety
  • One Health: humans, animals and plants
  • Accelerating biosafety in pandemic times
  • Break-outs on
    • Biocides
    • Legislating biologicals
    • Dual use, misuse and research of concern
    • Transport
    • Clinical trials
  • An inspiring Chris Collins lecture
  • Ample networking and information sharing opportunities

And of course we also want you to contribute to this conference! We are looking for

• offered oral presentations (we have 6 30-minute slots available)
• posters, presenting your research results.
  New as of 2022! A selection of authors will be invited to give a 10-minute presentation of their poster during the main conference programme. The best combination of presentation and poster will be awarded the special poster prize.
