task-force on the Biocidal Product Regulation

Wanted: New member(s) to join the EBSA task-force on the Biocidal Product Regulation

The EU biocides legislation has significant impact on the availability of disinfectants for use in life sciences laboratories. Many EBSA members have questions about this issue and are faced with difficulties when advising on the legal use of disinfectants. In 2019 EBSA started a task-force on the Biocidal Product Regulation (BPR)

Since then, the task-force discussed, amongst other, on potential strategies to obtain insight in approval processes in the EU (what can be expected in short and longer term), and brainstormed on how to explore the options to simplify Instructions for use in the context of contained use / R&D and whether we can work towards a (regulatory) document for the application of (validated) biocides in contained use / R&D perspective (PT2, PT3, PT6), similar as was done for e.g. animal by-products

The TF aims to work on the topics above in the coming year(s).

Therefore, we are looking for EBSA members who would like to think with us towards EU wide solutions for the use of biocides in a contained use / R&D perspective.

Candidate task-force members can express their interest by sending an e-mail to the EBSA secretariat at ebsa-office@ebsaweb.eu.

Conference Planning Working Group (CPWG)

During the current pandemic the CPWG planned several succesful online events.

Now that the end of the pandemic is peeping on the horizon, we don't want to fall back into business as usual and continue to organize online meet-ups. Compiling programs for both physical conferences and online meet-ups takes a lot of time, which is why we are looking for additional members who want to help us achieve this. More members not only makes the work lighter but also provide new ideas and both are always more than welcome.

Candidate working group members can express their interest by sending an e-mail to the EBSA secretariat at ebsa-office@ebsaweb.eu.

Candidate focal points can express their interest by sending an e-mail to the EBSA secretariat at ebsa-office@ebsaweb.eu.
