Our National Security Global Business is currently seeking a Threat Agent Detection and Response Lead. This position is located in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The Threat Agent Detection and Response (TADR) Lead will supervise the development of the TADR network in the Country of Georgia. The TADR lead will have direct supervisory responsibility of ten people, and lead a team of over thirty scientists in a highly technical project. The position requires relocation to the Country of Georgia.
Key Duties:
• The TADR Lead will ensure integration of all program areas in the BTRIC Georgia Task Order, to include TADR, Biosafety and Biosecurity (BS&S), and National Especially Dangerous Pathogen (EDP) Response Team training.
• The TADR lead will also supervise Collaborative Biological Research (CBR) between Georgian and US stakeholders, including (but not limited to) CBR Projects, TADR Activity Projects (TAPs), and vector surveillance work.
• The TADR lead is responsible for facilitatiing integration and coordination among all project stakeholders.
• The BS&S program area includes assessment and enhancement of capabilities for all diagnostic, research, reporting and response structures in accordance with the latest programmatic guidance as well as supervision of the BS&S team (three people).
• The TADR Lead will supervise a comprehensive and sustainable training program that includes mentoring, train-the-trainer, on the job training, and proficiency testing. This program must integrate all program areas, including but not limited to BS&S, TADR, CBR, vector surveillance, Electronic Infectious Disease Surveillance System (EIDSS), National Response Training (NRTs), and facility operations and maintenance; and is focused on achievement of Full Operational Capabilities (FOC) of the TADR network in Georgia.
THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
• Requires an Advanced Degree in Public Health, Biosafety or Biosecurity, or a closely related biological science
• Requires at least ten years experience in leadership, project management, line management with teams of more than ten people
• Requires five years experience with Biological Threat Reduction or with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA)
• Prior overseas experience required, experience in a Former Soviet Union (FSU) Country is preferred
• Ability to integrate multiple requirements and work with a large number of stakeholders all with competing concerns is essential
• Foreign language proficiency is important (Georgian or Russian preferred)
