Sponsored membership

EBSA has declared in its mission statement to encourage good practices in biosafety and biosecurity throughout Europe and has therefore introduced a sponsored membership programme. This sponsorship enables individuals from a country in Europe with a low membership coverage of EBSA, to participate in EBSA activities at low costs.

EBSA will sponsor the participation of an individual with a documented interest in biosafety and biosecurity to participate in a pre-conference workshop and in the annual conference.

The sponsoring covers the individual EBSA membership for one calendar year, one workshop ticket and one conference ticket including dinner. Travel expenses will be reimbursed up to a maximum of 400 EUR. Accommodation and daily expenses will be reimbursed for three days, to a maximum in accordance with the WHO stipendium rates.

All applications will be taken into account and the EBSA Council will decide on admission to participation.

The deadline for sponsoring for the 2010 conference in Ljubljana is the 19th of February, two months before the start of the conference.

EBSA is at this moment particularly interested in applications from the following countries:

South Europe: Portugal, Greece
North-East Europe: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Poland
East Europe: Hungary, Moldova, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia
